Continuing to applaud our team members who go above & beyond. Every day.

Congratulations to our latest Care Champions. Through our national program, we continue to recognize our team members across Canada who go above and beyond every day for those we serve.

Meet our Care Champions:

Michelle Tate, Dietary Aide, Extendicare Oshawa, Ontario, was nominated by a peer.

“Michelle has worked tirelessly these past two years. She left her vacation early to come in to ensure that our residents were taken care of when the department was short-staffed. She is a leader among her peers, and they all look up to her and respect her. I would be lost without her.”

Eppachan Mathew, Registered Nurse, Extendicare Red River Place, Manitoba, was nominated by a peer.

“There is no way I could describe this individual in 250 words or less because the list is endless. He is the most compassionate, caring, patient registered nurse that I have ever seen. The time and commitment he provides our residents is amazing. He is usually a phone call away if we need him. You can always count on him. He is reliable and very dependable, quick, and efficient. This has been the entire eight years that I have worked here.”

Angeline Bulmer, Health Care Aide, Extendicare Athabasca, Alberta, nominated by a peer.

“Angeline always shows up ready to work with a smile on her face and is very kind-hearted. Angeline is incredibly flexible and readily picks up any shift in the kitchen over and above her rotation. She has also picked up shifts in nursing, and she has had a certificate as an HCA for many years now. She has a great sense of humor and is great with our residents by always paying close attention to all our residents’ likes and dislikes and little quirks to improve each meal experience for them. When we needed her most, she has been there for us time and time again and this has improved the quality of care for our residents.”
