Welcome home residents and team members | Extendicare Stoneridge Manor celebrates grand opening!

Extendicare Stoneridge Manor, a brand-new long-term care home in Lanark County, held a grand opening ceremony with some very special guests in attendance to celebrate the milestone.

Residents, team members and family members were joined by the Honourable Stan Cho, Ontario’s Minister of Long-Term Care, John Jordan, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister and MPP for Lanark—Frontenac—Kingston, Toby Randell, Mayor of Carleton Place, and Dr. Michael Guerriere, our CEO to mark the occasion.

“I am so proud to call Stoneridge Manor my new home,” said Diane, the President of Stoneridge Manor’s Residents’ Council. “I love everything about it. From all the beautiful artwork on the walls, to the yummy food and incredible activities that are planned for myself and the residents – I truly feel like I am home.”

The doors to Stoneridge Manor opened six months ago, becoming home sweet home to 128 residents.

“A beautiful community exists inside of our home”, says Kerri Seabrook, the Executive Director of Stoneridge Manor. “The community is not only built by our staff and residents, but also by our volunteers, families, and friends. It truly is a special place.”

“This brand-new home is a testament to the bright future ahead for long-term care in Ontario, and what is to come in many more communities across the province,” said Dr. Michael Guerriere, our President and CEO. “Extendicare remains committed to doing our part and supporting the growing number of seniors who will need care in a comfortable place to call home.”

Extendicare is continuing to make steady progress on our commitment to redevelop every older long-term care home in our network, as part of our multi-year, national Improving Care Plan.

Extendicare will be opening three newly constructed and modern long-term care homes next year in Sudbury, Kingston and Ottawa. In 2024, we will also be breaking ground on additional projects in communities across Ontario.

Kerri says moving into Stoneridge Manor has been an “incredible journey” for residents, families, and team members, “I know our entire community looks forward to more memories together in the future!”
